A Butchery Masterclass - The Cook and Butcher comes to Honesty

The Honesty Cookery School is very excited to be hosting a butchery masterclass by Pete Congerton of the Thatcham based butchers - The Cook and Butcher.

Pete will start by giving a short talk on the principles and ethos of good butchery which will lead into a demonstration on how to breakdown a side of pork and butcher a whole lamb carcass. This is a great way to learn how to relate one cut to another and see the similarities and differences in different meats.

As Pete demonstrates he will give useful insights into butchery and farming as well as cooking tips and explanations as to the various cuts from the whole carcass. Questions are welcomed throughout the evening.

Once the demonstration has finished you will get hands on, mastering the simplicity of a butchers knot, as well as butchering/portioning a whole chicken.

You will take home your very own butchered chicken, a joint of pork which you have tied yourself (approx. value £20) and a Cook & Butcher gift.

At the end of the evening you will be offered a 20% discount on other items which Pete has butchered.

All abilities welcome. 8 people maximum.
